Selected Works

This introduction to Magoni’s art reveals a range of techniques, media and subject matter united by her powerfully expressionistic gesturality and powerful probing of the human animal. For example,  In the Valley of Silence is a large work that employs the grid as it also violates its strict geometries to display a recurring motif of Magoni’s, the emotive head and face.  In Doubt relies upon bold strokes to convey the fraught condition of mind/body/ego/id.  And Non-Portrait #3 deploys a gentle handling of the oil medium to almost watercolor-like effect to abstract the features of a person and Woman trying to remain afloat.
