The Absurdity of Dreams
The expressive immediacy of graphic works contains an energy that appeals to me. This series carries a sense of monumentality that belies each work’s actual scale. Pastels are often thought to be genteel and “ladylike” but they can convey a bold sensation of color as well. While these scenes could have been rendered as full oil paintings, the intimacy and immediacy of pastel creates a more direct and personal form of communication.
